A Journey Through My Lens

When I first joined the WP Credits program, I wasn’t sure which team I wanted to contribute to. As a Computer Systems Engineering Student, choosing the Core team would probably have made the most sense because it relates to what I study.

However, I wanted this experience to be different. I like trying new things instead of always doing what I’m already familiar with, and I didn’t want this project to feel like another university assignment. I wanted to enjoy the process while contributing to WordPress.

I’ve always been interested in photography, art and drawing, so when I saw that I could contribute to the Photos Team, I didn’t think twice. Even though I don’t know much about photography, I knew it was something I wanted to explore.

For my contribution project, I’ll be submitting my own photos to the WordPress Photo Directory. My goal isn’t to learn how to take perfect photos or become a professional photographer. Instead, I simply want to capture the places and moments that mean something to me. I enjoy taking photos that help me remember experiences, whether I’m traveling or just enjoying a beautiful view.

By the end of the program, I hope to have contributed something useful to the WordPress community while trying something completely new. I also hope this experience encourages me to keep taking photos and appreciating the little moments that are worth remembering.

I captured this moment during sunset as my flight was about to land in New York City. I’ve always loved sunsets, and I felt incredibly lucky to have a window seat that day.

As the warm orange tones slowly faded from the sky and the city lights began to appear, I knew I wanted to capture the moment. Looking back at this photo always reminds me of that evening. To me, it’s a perfect photo not because it’s technically perfect, but because it brings back a memory I’ll never forget.

And with this first post, I’d like to share the moments that mean something to me. These photos may not be perfect, but each one tells a story and captures a memory I’d like to keep
